My posts have been quite gloomy / dry. I know. I can't help it. Holidays, or should I say having time alone always gets me reflecting and reflecting gets me all broody. That I guess, is because I am thinking through possible solutions to peak myself up. You know, what goes down will come back up and vice verse? The cycle of life.
There I go blabbering again. I just want to get out of this country.
Really need a breather. And before you start judging me and my way of living let me tell you this. Buzz off. Like seriously. You may think am having a lot of freedom compared to those around me but you don't know how we fight for it and the lies that come with it. So shut up.
Was in the toilet when a thought popped in. Maybe I should just save up and make that Australia trip. To meet Jo Ann. Have been missing her a lot lately and she has been telling me to come over. A week long stay will do. Then maybe Thailand? It is going to cost me a lot and my pocket may have a gaping hole but hey! I will always be having all kinds of expenses coming up to drain me may as well be drained once in awhile for happiness sake.
Yes, that is right. Melbourne, here I come. I pray it happens.
What ever the outcome, it happens for a reason.

The grass always appears to be greener on the other side but it never is. That is what am always told. But we would never know unless we ourselves take that step to venture out right? To explore the other "world".
I am all out to leave this country once I have stabilized myself financially. I do not have an ounce of patriotism left in me. Drastic as it may all sound, it is the truth. I find myself ending each day with the same promise over and over again - I will get out of here. If not now, later. Some time soon. 6 years maybe? 30 feels right. When a woman is in her ripened stage. Fully ready to take on the world and its challenges.
I am not being ungrateful. I am very thankful and greatly appreciate all the the things this country and its leaders have provided for me. If not for our fore fathers and their sacrifices, I would not be where I am today. We have a world class education, health care system and most importantly, security and yet these things cannot stop me from leaving. Why? Because I cannot seem to form a connection with the people here. Everyone seems to be wearing a mask of pretense over their faces. Everyone wants success so bad, it is okay to back bite. Kia Su-ism is our middle name while being a a cheap skate is our first. People have forgotten what personal hygiene is and speaking English with a stupid fake accent to fit in with the ang mos has become the trend, all just because it makes you sound educated. Right, with your stupid loose pronunciation and failed attempt of having an accent, indeed you sound like a Cambridge Scholar.
It was a bus ride home on Friday that got me noticing all of the above. Not that it was not obvious in the past. I have always noticed it but it was just more prominent that faithful day. That exact half hour bus ride home. It was a journey of discovery alright. I realised how much I despised Singaporeans. How much I do not fit in with the loose culture here.
The only thing that is holding me back is the thought of leaving my entire family behind. And yes, friends too. But family seems to be more of a challenge. My Little nieces and nephews, my cousins, my uncles and aunties and of course my parents and siblings.
Well, technology is advancing right? This distance can some what be closed though it can never fill the physical gap.
I still do not know where I will be heading to because a simple life is all I want. A little village, some animals and lots and lots of village children running around. A close commune living. When the day draws near for me to leave this stink hole, I believe HE will show me the way.
It will be a struggle at first but I will make it through. I know I will.
A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
Wait, an apt song for this entry. Haha! I used to sing this to myself whenever I was pissed off with this country and its system. When I was younger. Forgot about it till today. How appropriate. =)

Currently on replay in my head. Never fails to get my shoulders moving and my hips shaking. Hehe.
Disfrutar!
I want to go on a holiday so badly. If only I could just gather up some friends and take a short back packer's trip out of this stink hole of stress and being nothing but the best. If only I did not have to work under anyone. If only I was my own boss. If only my pockets were bursting with money.
If only.
I don't want to start exploring the world when I am 30. No. I want to start now. At this ideal age of 24. I don't want Europe and its flamboyant hotels just yet. I want Asia and her secrets. The quiet monasteries of Thailand, the ankor wats of cambodia and so much more. Each with their own story to unveil. Simple and real. But simple does not mean no challenges. I want to be like the commoners there. To feel what they feel, to taste what they taste on a daily basis and to witness events like they do. Nothing hidden. 100% raw.
I really hope to get that chance this December. My aim is Thailand. Inspired by what I saw in Hangover II. Nope, not the ba poks and the outrageous night life. The monks' monastery. The only thing that kept my attention longer than 2 minutes because there was nothing disgustingly gross in it. I made up my mind then and there that Thailand it will be.
And Thailand it shall be.
May this simple wish come true this December.
We must go beyond textbooks, go out into the bypaths and untrodden depths of the wilderness and travel and explore and tell the world the glories of our journey.

India, more like Kerela has been in my thoughts a lot lately. Exactly one week ago, I woke up with it as the first thought of the day and it kept gnawing at the back of my head for the remaining of the day and into the weekend. The day after that, I got a call from my aunty on my mobile. She had called to say hello.
One week later, today, I woke up from a short nap in the afternoon with the land of coconuts, once again, in my thoughts. Picked up my phone to check the time and saw the message light blinking. It was my cousin from there. She had messaged to say HELLO. Coming from her, that is a surprise indeed! because she hardly ever messages me!
So what is with Kerala and my head?! That too, 2 Fridays consecutively.
Lets see what happens next Friday.
Will update soon. Just had to get this down because it is kind of strange.
Or am I thinking too much?
Till then, enjoy the 2 songs below.
And of course, SIMPLE PLAN! Am having the Simple Plan fever! Love their new approach with this song. Enjoy!
