The March Holidays are coming to a close and I must say this was the BEST holidays I have ever had since a long time. It was tension free and full of surprises. I enjoyed every single bit of it. Of course, not forgetting that my birthday was part of it all.
My 24th was special in that for once after so many years, I spent it at home - the whole day. Unlike my usual where I would go out with my sisters and spend a good part of the day out and the evening home.
This year was different. I paid a visit to the temple in the morning after visiting my favourite old man, grabbed us some really awesome lunch at Sakuntala's and backed it up with a yummy stick of Magnum gold while watching The Vampire Diaries. Oh! and I bought 2 novels as a gift to well, myself. haha. I must admit that I was a little cranky for the first part of the day as I was upset for being kind of broke on a day where I so badly wanted to spend on myself but I have to say that it was all well made up for. I have no complains.
My sisters were creative with their presents this year. What did they give you may wonder. Themselves. Nope, this is not an attempt to be sentimental. They were the presents. The picture below is my evidence =p. How priceless ;) .
They got me a really nice tinker belle mug from Disney on Ice - shaped like a tulip with a 3D tinker bell. Really pretty mug which I would be using at work. haha!
Thursday, the day after my birthday came with a little surprise, my eldest cousin called to say that she had won 2 pairs of tickets for Disney on Ice and wanted us 3 sisters to go a long with my little niece. Talk about a wish come true!!! I wanted to go so badly this year but like I mentioned, I kind of got a little broke this month and could not buy tickets for the March 17th show and by th BIG GUY's grace, got not 1 but FOUR given to me!! I mean yea, one was meant for my little niece but hey! My sisters and I could go! So in the end I still got my 12 year old wish granted!! =) I was overjoyed. You have got no idea how happy I was because only I know how badly I have been wanting to go since I was a little primary school kid and the disappointment I felt when I thought that this year was yet another failed attempt.
The Disney on Ice was a throughly magical experience. I felt like was in a trance through out the 2 hour plus show. Ever item made me feel as if I was part of a real life fair tale. My favourite was the Lion King and Tinker belle story. The music, the props, the ice skaters, they all did justice to the now almost forgotten fairy tales of the yester-years. I would definitely want to go again next year. In short, the whole experience just made my heart feel itchy and warm and yes, I did feel the tears well up a little somewhere between The Little Mermaid and The Lion King. I just could not believe I was sitting there watching the whole thing unfold - and yea, memories of the childhood played its part too. =p
A lot has happened this week. Some of which are too personal for this space but they were all little prayers that somehow got fulfilled on this special week and coincidentally, the days after my birthday. A fresh start, a new beginning.
I hope it all gets better from now on. I believe they will.
