I had a splendid day with the kids today. Well, not my students to be specific. Random P1 kids whom I happened to make friends with because I decided to let my hair down and be a silly teacher today. And silly teacher I was.
One of my own students randomly grabbed my hand during recess today and said she wanted to play London Bridge and before I could think up an excuse to avoid making myself look like a silly billy I had a row of 3 kids standing in front of me. Waiting eagerly to go "under the bridge". Yea, that was how fast they were. I don't know how these kids can really notice things so fast. Well, one of them was my little-est cousin and under they went singing as they passed through one by one pushing the other just to avoid being caught and before long, my group of 4 grew into a group of 10 of which the majority were boys!! 6 boys just came into the group and a bespectacled boy who reminded me of Roly Poly, a really cute chubby NOT fat boy asked me "Teacher can we play also?" of course! haha! I could not stop laughing along with them and wow, the energy they filled me with! I wish recess was longer!! Or that girl had grabbed my hand earlier! I believe the queue would have grown if we had a minute longer!
Kids are adorable. I cannot imagine a world without them - well, as long as they are all doe-eyed and innocent.
Ahem, I even have appointment made ok! They all made me agree to come down and play with them during this Wednesday's recess! haha! random people who could just come together and play as friends. So nice! I should say thank you to that student of mine. =)
I should try to rope in more of my little students with SEN so at least they get to socialise and in the long run make lasting friendship. Today is just the beginning. Start with the P1s because they are more accepting. hmm.. I like!
Let's see how it goes.
Am feeling ecstatic!
