Ahhhh the cold weather is making me crave for hot and spicy Indian food. Yummy curry with a teaspoon of curd to put off the flame on the taste buds. Hmm.. I love!
I will never get sick of Indian food. Never. It is something I can have everyday and never get tired off. Unfortunately, what I get from home is not authentic enough. That is why I look forward to my Sundays where my grandfather's maid prepares one of the most tasteful curries ever. My grandmother taught her well =).
I LOVE food. Not in a glutton like way but just for the whole story behind each cuisine. The 5 Ws and 1 H. I enjoy flipping through menus reading about the origins of the each dishes which in itself is a mental trip to the country of its makings. Whatever the ethnicity, no food has left me grinning with satisfaction as wide as the Cheshire cat like Indian food does.
I prefer vegetarian over non-vegetarian because somehow, the spices used seems to blend in better with vegetables then we meat, or so I think. Or it could simply be because I am not really a meat person. Seafood yes, meat a no-no. I wish I could prepare food s good as my grandmother did. I have yet to taste any food as delicious as hers. Nope not at all. Close to hers yes, but not like hers. Then again, a person's style of cooking is as unique as the individual so I shall stop with the comparison.
Man, I need to learn to cook so that I can just whip up whatever I want whenever I want without having to wait 6 days or at times, months when there are family gatherings and scrumptious food is assured. hmmph!
There is no love sincerer than the love of food. ;)
