Back after a hectic 2 weeks. What have I been up to aside from assignment? Nothing much except beginning my life as a trained AED(LBS) in GESPS. So far so good I must say. Though I am having issues with the way the inducting teacher and my CT reacted to my surname. hmmph!

Induction teachet (IT)
Corp-orating teacher (CT)

Principal: Hi. Welcome to GESPS, what would you like us to address you as?

Me: Divya would do.

Principal: Same for the students?

Me: Yes.

IT: How about calling you by your last name?

Me: That should be fine too.

In we go into the conference room for the orientation and what not.

CT: So our staff shall address you as Miss Divya and the students as Miss SUNIL? (she is malay so I am guessing she must be associating Suni = Sunil = Sunil Shetty the actor)

Me: My name is spelled as Divya D/O SUNI

AND

both she and the IT who is a *chinese* lady exchanged this quick glance and in UNISION told "lets stick to Miss Divya, we do not want any problems because of your name. Especially with the kids"

WHY???? Is it really that funny?!!! hahahahahaha.. Cause you know what? I actually hated my name in secondary school and only started accepting it a few years ago! Like what? 4-5 years ago? haha..I remember how Ke Xin used to irritate me by calling me SUNI whenever I stepped into class early in the morning everyday! ha!

Whatever! I still love my name and there are people with worse names than mine! =)

Am a little free now. Still have 2 assignments to go but decided to take this 1 week as a break before I get back on track.

* I mentioned the race of the IT because at first, I thought SUNI was a bad word in Malay or something till I saw the reaction from the IT. so yea, am still wondering if there is any hidden meaning in either language. Can't be in mandarin since I know the language.
