I finally got to do what I have been wanting to do for sooo long. First, promise that you won't laugh. hehe..well, I went shopping at MUSTAFA! haha..yes you read it right. MUSTAFA. hahaha. I don't know why but lately I have been having the urge to just go there and shop. Ironically, that place used to be the place my sisters and I hated stepping into because...hmm..let me just say we were young and a little too naive with regards to culture acceptance. ;)

Now years later, that is one of my favourite places to shop at. To be more specific, to shop for indian products which you would not easily get at the one hundred and one shopping centers we have locally. I love looking through endless selections of ayuverdic(herbal) products like face soap, stinky yet nourishing hair oil (psst..my hair does ook good no? plus no smell right? ah! see..it is a common misconception that indian hair oil leaves a stinky after smell..hmmph! it is all about how you wash it =)) and the many branded products at much affordable prices - they are genuine too.

Moving on, got myself a new bottle of hair oil, herbal soap ( seriously, I still cannot see the logic behind spending 100 over bucks for your face when something more natural and cheaper can do just as good a work! ahem..just look at my face :p)

kk, back to my list of purchase. I re-stocked on my primrose oil pills(the same bottle cost me 22 bucks at guardian - I got it for $18), sandal wood powder, umbrella and just as I decided I have got enough in the basket to break my wallet, my little peepers got drawn to a really nice black nike bag. They just could not resist the attitude its simplicity brought out. (Just another excuse to spend) and after a much heated debate between the angel and the devil, another 49 bucks was added to the bill. But somehow, my heart is not aching because 1) I was looking for a back pack for months and 2) The price was reasonable. So why not?

I am one satisfied, happy girl today. I have a huge smile on my face and nothing is going to wipe it off this time. =)

"I had to drive a taxi to know what hard ship was" Those were the words that struck a chord with me while having dinner with my father. I cannot believe we actually came out of those times and thanks to the BIG guy's blessings, we are now stronger monetarily.

Thanks to the recession 5 years ago, my father was retrenched and had to drive a taxi to make ends meet. I was in poly second year and my sisters were in secondary and primary school respectively. I took up my first "job" of giving tuition to a then primary 4 kid to help ease the load on my side of the expenses. It taught me independence and till now, I have not stopped what I like doing most. That is, to teach.Had I not taken that first assignment, I would not have realised it.

I remember the day my father smsed me to say he got a job and that the pay was actually better than his previous job. I was overjoyed. The day could not get any better. Rekha was standing with me at that time and thinking back, it was a real happy moment shared. I screeched and could not stop smiling and giggling. That night we shopped to our hearts content.

Life is a lesson we can never learn through text books and exams. We have to experience it in order to learn more about it

This entry is a little out of point here and there but it just happened to be something I wanted to write the moment my father spoke the words out. It brought back some good memories. Honestly, though that period was tough,I did not realy feel the pinch because I had really good support from my friends then. The laughter, the tears. It allowed me to sail through it effortlessly. Like Chee Hong once said, we have been through hell together as a group.

Haiz, miss my poly days. Miss the fun and all the mischief I used to get up to with rekha and the rest. Pranking the others, making mischief, running to meridien hotel's swimming pool to skive while the others were working their butts of at John Little..and the excuse for missing in action? We were both stuck in the toilet cause of diarohea! ha!. But unfortunately, they knew us to well. haha.

So many memories to treasure. Indeed I am going of tangent. haiz. I shall just end it here.

Before that,
ammua, it is already three years since you have been gone and even then, I still cannot let go of the fact that you are really gone but appupa's lonliness makes it a reality.

I love you. I miss you.

Oh Dear BIG guy up there,

May tomorrow be a good day please.

Amen.

*Groans* I am really not looking forward to it. I wonder if it shows. My delay in replies, my lack of contribution of suggestions. I am really hesitant. I wish it would rain or maybe have a small flood or something. Hmm.. haha..what an idiot I can be at times. Ok, maybe not something so drastic.

For once, I am hoping Mr Lim will do what he is notorious for and that is to call for a sudden meeting. I would welcome it with a huge sigh of relief and a hug to anyone close by. Haiz, what I would do to hear that announcement. 2 hours? 3 hours? Even 4 hours also can lah Mr Lim!! I promise not to grumble and would give my 100% attention to whatever crap you have to talk for the day. (I am such an assole eh?)

Damn it. I can be one of the worst person to have as a friend. So negative. But I cannot help it. Sometimes, I am made to feel that way. Actually, I think the problem lies with me and my head. But then again, I just cannot shake of the feeling whenever she is around. My whole guard just goes up despite the years we had. Huh.. I thought my opinion would have changed since my birthday but....haiz.

Maybe tomorrow will be different.

I know! Lets make a deal ok? If you predict the outing to be something that will make dark clouds hover above me, then please let any of the above three take place. (psst..all 3 also can :p) if it is going to be other wise, then....fine, let there be sunshine and rainbows.

Set? OK? Done deal.

Looking forward to a good sign from you. (either way the result is meant to be good)

Love

Divya. =)

To have a friend is to be a friend.

p.s To make myself clearer, just stop me not the rest. Know what I mean?

I have a dream. To travel the world and make a difference. To swim with the dolphins and help a child in need.To ride an elephant, to have a farm. A simple laid back life.

I was once ambitious. I wanted to be doctor, to have BIG house and a fancy car.But looking back, they seem so childish and unrealistic. Anyone can be a doctor, to have a BIG house and own a really fancy car if they put their heart and soul into working for it but at the end of the day, are they really happy with what they have achieved? You work, more than 12 hours a day, sometimes, the whole day, only to come home and sleep and then get back to dragging yourself out of bed the next morning. You speed down the road in your fancy car only because you are late and have to beat the early morning peak hour traffic and not because you want to enjoy your car's horse powered engine.

So tell me, was it all worth it?You got everything you wanted but when you have them, you cannot enjoy them. Where is the satisfaction and happiness?

I have been thinking alot lately. About what I really want to achieve in life. I am happy with my job so far and cannot wait to undergo training but the question is, whats next? A house? A car? What? Maybe, I am planning too early but I cannot help it. It is my nature to start early. For security sake. I need it.

I don't want a big house nor a big fancy car. I am over it already. I just want to live simply and be happy. I just hope that in years to come, I will fulfil my dream of owning a farm and teaching kids in a rural country. To be surrounded with animals and children. Sounds too far fetched? Nope, that is reality. I believe there is true satisfaction there. (in MY opinion. MINE. =)) And, instead of a car, I will keep an elephant as my mode of transport. Mwahaha! Or maybe a horse? hehe..Ahhh..for the love of animals. I cannot wait.

Before I end, let me just tell you what are the animals I hope to own in my farm. I am dead serious alright.

Here goes. I want atleast 2 elephants, a few horses, some cows,4 goats, 2 deers, many dogs, a pair of love birds, 2 rabbits and a small flock of sheeps. My farm will also be near the ocean where I can see dolphins swim and the beautiful sun set. I don't need loads of money to keep me happy. That is more than enough for me.

I have a dream and I hope to achieve it soon.

Just when I thought I could block it all out and focus on my life, it has all come flooding back to me. Argh, because honestly, it was different. Damn, the pictures. Did they have to come now?

If only it was as easy as pressing shift delete. Then everything would just be erased from the "hard disk" permanently.

Bought myself a sketch book and a drwaing pencil and just drew my frustraions out. I must say I draw well when irritated or confused. I mean, not in an artistic splash-of-colours kind of way.

Before that, did karaok-ing cum concert enactment at the top of our voices with my sister as once again, we sang to the songs of westlife! It was so funny because my youngest sister thought we were mad and disappeared to use the computer instead. Huh! She does not know what she is missing! Jonas brothers and miley cyrus are just soooooooo..hmm..no words can describe their yuckiness. haha..Oops!

Anywayz, can't wait to have session 2! hehe..music for the lost soul.

I am cheered up already just thinking back to the outing and singing madness. =)

Singing evokes the temple of the soul.

OH! And I forgot to mention Transformers and New York were both really really AWESOME!! GO watch!

p.s New York is a Hindi movie about terroism, friendship and the racism foreigners (south asians) faced after the 9/11 attack. It revolves around the lives of those three people you see above. It was done nicely. Like an English thriller. No stupid Lovey Dovey stuffs PLUS, there were no bollywood songs! Sad, but in a way, FINALLY a change. :p

Psst..I need to know, who do you think is cuter? The beefy guy in pink or the Oooh lala in green? (say the green!) I got to settle some scores with my sister. ;)

Pity, I have no tag board though. Haha.

Today is Sunday. The third week of successful cooking by the 3 of us. The Fathers' Day spread woke the cooking spirit in us. Last week we prepared sardine curry with stir fried ladys fingers.Though they were just two simple dishes, (we have to start small right? :p) my father liked it. However, the potato was not cooked fully. Oops! So it kind of marred the taste a little with its rawness.

Today, we made mock mutton with toa-gei. A dish we are quite familiar with from past attempts. So we can safely say that it turned out well. Our initial plan was to make fish-papas curry. An authentic kerala dish using coconut it is 2 common forms - fresh milk and fruit. It is rich and a little unhealthy but for something that is not eaten on a frequent basis, why not right? But we lacked some ingredients and due to the time constraints, we decided to leave that for next week.

We hope to go on trying out new dishes and I hope one day, we will learn how to use the right spices for the right type of meat and curry. It is something we are still confused with. With practice, comes perfection. Or atleast, close to that. haha.

Cooking has a therapeutic feel to it. A form of yoga for the soul because it awakens all the senses from deep within. Go try it. =)

cooking is like love.It should be entered it to with abandon or not at all.
