Anywayz, she was not the reason for this entry. This horrible song happens to be playing in the background as I type.

I have come to blow my trumpet. haha..right, it is not a very " I-just-saved-the world kind of action.Something small and may seem insignificant to you but to me, it meant something.

I was at Wheelock's Nokia Service Center with my sisters to get my software upgraded when while standing at the queue, a chinese woman entered and had the nerves to just cut infront of me. If there was a long messy queue or if I were a midget, I can understand her being oblivious to my presence but there I was with my whole 5 feet and God knows how many inches frame standing in a queue of just 2 people infront of me and she could be so kiasu and kan-cheong to just cut the line!

Ok, at first I thought I shall just leave it.Maybe, she really did not notice me standing there but then changed my mind and decided that if I am willing to wait that short while, she too has to be patient. I tapped her and said " Excuse me, I was standing here before you." and obviously, she understood me BUT, smart woman used mandarin to reply saying "NO, I CAME here first!" huh..still got the cheek to accentuate each syllable and roll her stupid eyes. That was enough to irritate me and so I replied in the same language to her astonishment : SHI WO XIAN LAI DE. Wahahahaha.you should have seen the look on her face! Classic! She went silent, moved a step back and actually reached her hand out to indicate that I could move to the front!

Haha..but what a waste. I should have added by saying..Why are you talking to me in chinese when you can clearly see that I am an Indian? I mean, people shouldn't keep taking it for granted that everyone is just going to learn their language just because they are the majority race here right.Then what would happen to our own individual culture and languages. I am sure she could speak a little english. She was young and this is Singapore.English is known atleast in its minimal to some plus, she understood me. hah..must be thinking she could get away if she acted dumb and replied in chinese. She got the wrong breed of indian this time.

Ok, Ok, I sound a little too arrognat for something so small but I cannot help it. The people here are just getting on to my nerves more and more each day.

I am glad atleast I kind of stood up for myself in this sense. I need more opputunities. ;)
